A.S.E.H. was started in April 1997 in the annexe of Meenakshi Nursing Home, Pammal. From November 1998, the hospital functioned in a rented building (which contained a spacious Operation Theatre, an Optical Division, an In Patient Room, and Out Patient department etc.) in Krishna Nagar, Pammal. In November 2001, the hospital moved in to its own spacious building of 6000 Sq.ft. at a cost of 1 crore and has now established itself as a pioneer institution in the last Ten years. Since 1997, the hospital has been rendering yeoman services in the field of Ophthalmology and today people from far and near make use of the valuable services, rendered by the institution.
